Coming on staff in June 2000, Chris is involved in many areas of the church ministry: serving as an Elder, chairing Bethel's Deacon Ministry team, administrating much of the church's managerial functions, being the pastoral liaison for the children's ministry, and providing support for Bethel's IT network. Regardless of what hat he is wearing, Chris shepherds with a servant’s heart.
Chris grew up in a Christian home and turned in faith to Christ as a boy. When asked what he likes best about Bethel, he said, “the church’s commitment to faithful expository preaching and the desire to see changed lives.”
Before joining the team at Bethel, Chris was a teacher and administrator at high schools in Florida and Indiana. He earned his undergrad degree in biology from Liberty University and his master’s degree in educational administration from Florida State University. Chris also studied at Purdue University, Tennessee Temple, and Loyola University.
When he gets a chance to relax, Chris likes to watch sports and go deer hunting. Some of his favorite authors include John Piper, Philip Yancey, John MacArthur and John Grisham. Chris is married to Eva, and they have four kids: Landry (9), Bryce (7), Peyton (5) and Ty (4). The Carr’s live in Merrillville. |
