Jim Pitts // Pastor of Student Ministries

In October of 2006, Jim joined the church staff as Bethel’s Pastor of Student Ministries after having served as assistant pastor at Gilead Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia for 9 years and associate pastor at Faith Bible Church in Naples, Florida for 4 years.

Jim's primary role is shepherding the students of Bethel to follow Christ in every area of their lives. By partnering with teen ministry leaders, Jim also leads various youth oriented ministries that give teenagers an opportunity to serve in their community as well as the local church body. Jim frequently preaches at camps, retreats and seminars for youth around the country and globe.

Jim's ministry passion for youth is to expose teens to God's love, equip them to exalt God, teach them the biblical enjoyment of others and help them experience the work of the ministry,

Jim grew up in a Christian home in Philadelphia, PA and came to know the Lord at the age of sixteen during a youth group missions trip. His training at a young age and his godly heritage laid the foundations for God's purpose in his life.

Jim has a bachelor's degree in Pastoral Studies with minors in Greek and Speech from Bob Jones University. Jim is also a certified crisis councelor for teens and has studied martial arts for 32 years earning black belts in 6 styles.
