Saturday Evening Service Joins Weekend Schedule

Starting this weekend, we are adjusting our service times. Our desire in doing this is to alleviate congestion on Sunday mornings, particularly in our children’s ministry and parking lots, and also to provide us with another avenue to reach our community. Join us this Saturday Night at 6:00PM or Sunday Morning at 9:00AM or 10:45AM to worship and celebrate our Savior Jesus Christ.

Saturday Night Service FAQ

Why are we doing this?
The easy answer is because the church is growing. We are out of space in our children’s ministry and we believe more families will come on Saturday night then to our 8:10 service. We also will spread cars and people over a night and morning rather than getting everyone in and out three times on a Sunday morning. The bigger answer is we are doing this to help reach NW Indiana for Christ. In addition to creating more capacity, we believe Saturday nights will provide our people with an easy way to invite friends to church to share an evening of friendship together.

What time will the services be held?
On Saturday night, the service will begin at 6:00 pm. On Sunday morning, we will be reverting back to our former two-service schedule, with services at 9:00 and 10:45 am. Please note that while the Saturday night service will begin on Easter weekend, the new schedule on Sundays will not begin until the weekend after Easter. On Easter Sunday morning, we will hold services at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:10.

Will the services be different on Saturday night and Sunday morning?
We intend for the Saturday night and Sunday morning services to be identical. Same music. Same message. Different day.

What kind of children’s ministry will be offered?
We will offer children’s ministry classes for newborns through second grade on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, we will offer a full children’s ministry, from newborn to 5th grade, at both the 9:00 and 10:45 services.

How can I help the Saturday night be successful?
First and foremost, you can pray. Pray that God will lead people to attend, both from Bethel and from the community. Also pray that volunteers will come forward to meet the needs that the new Saturday service requires. Second, volunteer to serve in one of the Saturday night ministries, particularly in our Children’s or Hospitality ministries. You can volunteer by contacting Melissa Anderson for Children’s Ministry, or Becky Witzke for the Hospitality Ministry.

We hope you are excited for the opportunities the Saturday night service will bring, and are grateful for your prayers, support, and enthusiasm as we take this step together!
