Steve is the church’s Senior Pastor, coming to Bethel in the summer of 1997 after spending five years leading students and worship at College Park Church in Indianapolis. While serving in various ways, Steve’s primary role is guiding the church through the expository preaching of God’s Word and setting a vision of ministry that exalts Christ. He is a frequent speaker at retreats and conferences, yet his greatest delight is shepherding the people at Bethel.

Pastor Steve’s teaching ministry can be heard through Bethel’s radio program The Journey.  This half-hour program airs on Moody Radio Chicago AM 1110 on Sundays at 8:30.  It can also be heard on Sundays at 9:00 and 11:00 on WWLO FM 89.1.

Growing up in a Christian home, Steve heard the gospel as a young boy. At the age of six, he was led to the Lord by his parents. Steve is an avid reader who enjoys the doctrines of grace, biographies, and World War II history.

He is an honors graduate of Cornerstone University and Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Steve is an associate member of the Evangelical Theological Society.
